weblogs.ucalgary.ca started in 2005 as an experimental community weblog publishing platform for the University of Calgary. In the 3 years that the site was run, it was not extremely successful, and has since been replaced by the much better UCalgaryBlogs.ca service. Since the older weblogs.ucalgary.ca site was being overrun by spam and attempted hacker attacks, it has decommissioned in March of 2009.

weblogs.ucalgary.ca has been replaced with a far more successful platform, operating at ucalgaryblogs.ca – it’s open to anyone in the University of Calgary community to create and manage websites using WordPress.
